For me its not so much the hairstyle but more the fact that the recent change in style seems disingenuous. She has always painted herself as a biracial wunderkind that transcends racial barriers with her existence alone. Now all of the sudden she looks as if she has been spray tanning herself to look a tad bit more dark, wearing her natural hair out more often, and now she’s wearing braids.
Sure she’s half black and well within her right to wear braids and such, but with how she hasn’t seemed to embrace her black side until now it just doesn’t seem authentic in the least.
